Cheadle

Established 1902
Once a thriving Rail Station town, the small town of Cheadle has shrunk to Hamlet status with a population of just over 100 people. Many tall trees fill the community and provide quiet escape from neighboring Calgary which lies 20km to the West. There is a local Ice-skating rink, Children's playground, Park, and Community Hall.

  • Proposed Location of new Mail Boxes and Billboard, wyldside wrote 17 years ago:
This location offers much more room than the existing location on Railway Avenue, but since the majority of Cheadle's population is on the West side, people might not agree with this future location. People would have to cross Hwy 24 to get the mail. Other communities have moved their community mailboxes to the same location as their community hall but, depending on people's views, this might not work for Cheadle. If the mailboxes do move here, it would be a good place for the community billboard as it can advertise for coming Cheadle Hall events. Just my 2 cents...
